Frågan om historievetenskapens sanningsanspråk har en lång förhistoria. Är de spår som historiker analyserar och tolkar objekt som i likhet med naturens lagar kan avtäckas, eller objekt som skapas genom en subjektiv tolkning som aldrig kan skiljas från den nutida läsarens perspektiv? I den här välbehövliga antologin argumenterar författarna emot den senare åsikten, vilken de menar är dominerande inom historiefilosofin. Bokens syfte är alltså att göra upp med vad redaktörerna Tor Egil Førland (Professor i historia och prefekt för Institutionen för filosofi, idé- och konsthistoria och klassiska språk, Oslo universitet) och Branko Mitrović (Professor i arkitekturhistoria, Norges teknisk-naturvetenskapligs universitet) menar är en ohållbar historiografisk tradition. Genom begreppskomplexet anti-realism, anti-positivism och postmodernism argumenterar såväl redaktörer som bidragsförfattare emot den historiefilosofiska åsikten att historiografiska begrepp inte refererar till någon faktisk historisk verklighet, eller att historiska händelser enbart existerar inom ramen för ett narrativ eller en vald teori. Boken skriver alltså in sig i en uppgörelse med postmodernismen som pågår inom andra fält, exempelvis sociologi, vetenskapsteori och filosofi. Även om varken frågeställningen eller den generella kritiken är ny så har den mer utförliga diskussionen inom historievetenskapen hittills lyst med sin frånvaro. Antologin bidrar därmed till att öppna en delvis ny debatt inom historievetenskapen. Gott så.

El fenómeno, junto con la noción de forma y reducción, es uno de los conceptos clave para entender el desarrollo crítico que hace María Zambrano de la fenomenología. Este artículo sostiene que hay que interpretar la noción como la respuesta a varios problemas dentro de la epistemología. Además, el artículo muestra cómo la noción de fenómeno está ligada a la noción de la forma, siendo esta última el producto expresivo de la primera. Se puede concebir el fenómeno en la obra de Zambrano como un fenómeno poiético.

Together with the notions of form and reduction, phe-nomenon is a key concept for understanding the critical development of phenomenology in the works of María Zambra-no. This article argues that one has to interpret the notion as a reply to several problems within epistemology. This paper compares the concept of the heart in the works of Max Scheler and María Zambrano. Both authors use the heart as a metaphor for distinct human affective phenomena that have a central anthropological, epistemological, and ontological significance. The comparison between authors’ use of the metaphor is organised around three main topics: the order of the heart; the idea of a primordial feeling and its place in the affective life; and the primacy of love in relation to negative affective attitudes. Our aim is twofold: to investigate the influence of Scheler on Zambrano’s thought and to demonstrate how Scheler’s phenomenology of affectivity transformed in Spanish philosophy and, in particular, in Zambrano’s work. After introducing the topic (section 1), the paper focuses on Scheler’s model of affectivity (section 2), presents an overview of Scheler’s reception in Spain focusing on Zambrano’s knowledge of his works (section 3), and examines Zambrano’s notion of the heart tracing parallelisms in Scheler’s works (section 4). The paper concludes with a discussion on Zambrano’s extension and transformation of the metaphor of the heart in the context of Spanish philosophy.

In the late works of Maria Zambrano (1904-1991), the author presents exile as a particular kind of experience, by which the structure and arquitectonics of human existence become visible. Similarly, in his posthumously publishedPassagen-WerkWalter Benjamin (1892-1940) introduces the flaneur - which he repeatedly likens to the immigrant or exile - as the representation of a particular kind of gaze, disclosing the arquitectonics and structure of capitalist bourgeois society. In this article, I suggest that the notions offiguraanddialektisches Bildfrom the authors' respective works are connected to an exile mode of perception, centred on the problem of translatability across cultural and linguistic borders. I believe that the similarities between the two authors can be explained by a reading which contextualizes them as a political generation with a shared experience of exilic boundary-crossing.
