Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This present study explores different uses of the Russian dative in order to find possible common semantic meaning components. The study is corpus based and uses the Russian National Corpus (RNC). The analysis primarily uses Anna Wierzbickas theory Natural Semantic Metalanguage (NSM). The aim was to find out possible common semantic components for the Russian dative. The following categories were analysed: VP (verb+dative), PP (prepositions+dative) and constructions (impersonal clauses and possessive NP). The results show that no invariant semantic components common for all usages of dative were detected.
