2006 (English)In: 1000 films to change your life.: The movies that move us. / [ed] Cropper, Simon, London: Time Out , 2006, p. 23-25Chapter in book (Other (popular science, discussion, etc.))
Abstract [en]

The article discusses the impact on the young audience of art house cinema for children. Taking as examples three internationally well-known titles – Albert Lamorrisse's The Red Balloon, Martin Rosen's Watership Down and Kjell Grede's Hugo and Josephine – the article argues that art house films for children tell their stories from a radical children's perspecitve and this is why they have the potential of making such a huge impact on its audience.
