Abstract [en]

Company-customer interaction is becomit^ increasingly widespreadin industrial markets, bringing benefits that are both productive andstrate^. This paper looks at the prerequisites for inlying the samelogic in consumer markets. The conclusion is that due to new tedinok^ and the emergerux ofmore qtudified and demanding consumers, the logic is alreadyappeasing in a under range cf industries, with interaction in one armore activities in the value-creating process; in design, production andmaiketing as weU as in the consumption and later destruction ofproducts. But, up to now, the benefits are maitdy on the consumerside. There seems to be some potential for consideri^le strategicadvanU^es for companies, however, provided that their organizatiotmlstructure is modified, new communication channels are built, the competence of the fiont-line staff is developed, and the companyculture becomes more consumer-oriented.
