Abstract [fr]

Abstract [en]

Literary French speaking world and intersystematic exchanges with non French speaking world: a double transfer of symbolic capital

This article examines the literary exchange existing between Algeria and Sweden through a study of the journalistic reception of Francophone Algerian literature in the Swedish press between 1990 and 2015. The discourse of the press is analyzed using Sapiro’s model (2010). The results show that Sweden views Francophone Algerian literature as modern and endowed with a rich and ancient heritage. Contrary to Casanova’s model of literary exchange (2002), this literature does not systematically appear as peripheral. The author therefore emphasizes the importance of studying French language literature from the margins of the non-Francophone literary system in order to contribute to the renewal of Francophone studies.
