This study aims to investigate students' opportunities to socialise in student housing in Stockholm, where student housing often is located at quite some distance from campus. This study therefore looks into the quality of the student housing by the standards of Stockholms’ municipals recommendations and by interviewing eight tenants in different student housing areas. The results showed that all interviewees wanted to have a better neighbor atmosphere, but not necessarily getting new friends. Half of the interviewees were unsatisfied due to cramped spaces and with few areas to socialise either with friends or neighbors. Common areas often lacked quality or were unavailable, and therefore barely used. The student housings lacked suitable organized activities. Results indicate that different areas need different countermeasures depending on the tenants age, education and term.
