Abstract [sv]

The chapter presents different aspects of child development. The discussion of nature and nurture is brought forward. Theories of cognitive and emotional development are presented. Applications of developmental theory in the pre-school and school environment is discussed as well as abuse, neglect and children in non-optimal environments.
