Syndabocken: En antologi
2007 (Swedish)Collection (editor) (Other academic)
This is the first anthology in Swedish translation with texts by the French literary critic and philosopher René Girard. The selection comprises all of his oeuvre, from th early Mensonge romantique et vérité romanesque (1961) to Je vois Satan tomber comme l'éclair (1999) and seeks to give an account of the broad scope of Girard's thinking, from literary interpretation to anthropology and religion. The important conceptual link is between violent desire, based on rivalry and imitation, and primitive sacrifice and scape-goating. The anthology has an introduction to Girard's thinking, "Den obekväme René Girard" by Anders Olsson. The translation is made from the French original by Gunilla von Malmborg.
