Value Based Management - A new trend or an old concept?
Stockholm University, Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Business.

Abstract [en]

The argument over whether VBM, using discounted cash flows and/or economic profit measures, should be used, is not in doubt. There has been a substantial increase in the number of companies claiming to use VBM. Value based companies are increasingly adopting economic measures of performance but VBM adoption still varies significantly among companies. It is diffucult to bring up the interest for the VBM model on the market. I will analyze why and investigate if there is a market for me as a consultant to work within VBM, and if there are any demands of VBM tools?
