A regression study of 50 Swedish companies listed on the Swedish “A-listan”, shows evidence of a significant connection between compensation structure and firm performance. The connection is strongest between ROA and a predictor called the Lantz-predictor. We have measured changes in all the variables used, to perform a cross-sectional regression analysis covering the years 1998 through November 2000. Changes in compensation structure between December 1998 and December 1999 was regressed versus the performance changes between December 1999 and November 2000.
