The purpose of this paper is to find out how effective the communication process is between students and the labor market. The author has performed observations and interviews with students enrolled at Stockholm School of Business and some consulting companies, which participated in the annual labor market fair ED2001. The conclusion of the study is that the communication process between students and the labor market not always is as effective as could be. There is need for a more profound cooperation where students, companies, alumni and teachers work together decreasing the gap between the academic and theoretical world, and the professional and practical reality.
