Abstract [en]

This Master thesis concentrates to the hot topic in the global financial world – China’s opening to the foreign banks. In the face of China’s commitment to the World Trade Organization (WTO), toughening competition, changing standards and culture the Chinese market is now opening up further. This offers increased opportunities and a new state of condition for foreign banks. In order to be successful within the banking sector in China, some specific circumstances need to be taken into consideration. Therefore, we have chosen to investigate what opportunities and threats foreign banks are facing when operating in China.
