Abstract [en]

This study will take a careful look into the recent developments of a medium-sized Finnish automotive logistic firm SE Mäkinen Oy. Within the last the seven years SE Mäkinen has developed new computer assisted information system that is said to have a profound impact over its internal business processes. Today, this Logistic Control System (LCS) is used throughout the company to manage the underlying operational processes. Although it’s very practical applications, the implemented information system has become kept contributable for a various more profound, but also more elusive and less formally depicted developments. It is even argued, to have transformed the very nature of the underlying business. Altogether, the LCS could be suspected to be a system of strategy-shaping qualities.
