Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the effect of bank acquisitions on the profitability, measured as industry-adjusted return on assets (ROA) and industry-adjusted return on equity (ROE), and test if the eventual change in performance is statistically significant. Furthermore, to analyze whether the eventual change in profitability can be explained by cost efficiency, revenue efficiency or by diversification, by carrying out a multiple regression analysis and testing mean changes in the variables.
