Securing the long-term supply: - a methodology for financial analysis
Stockholm University, Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Business.
2005 (English)Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (One Year)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
Abstract [en]

One of the major impediments for taking advantage of global sourcing is the difficulties with identifying and handling risks. Besides evaluating the supplier’s capabilities regarding product and service quality, a financial analysis is needed - which is complex to perform. This Thesis has an exploratory approach, with the purpose to investigate the process that large companies currently use to handle the issue of financially analyzing their suppliers. Focus in this study is on the process and the tools used, not the interpretation of the outcome of the financial analysis.
