Abstract [en]

Avsikten med den här studien var att ta reda på hur en diagnos kan påverka en elevs självuppfattning samt hennes skolsituation. Denna fallstudie visar att diagnosen inneburit en förklaring och positiv bekräftelse för eleven. Hon vet nu att det finns en orsak till hennes läs- och skrivsvårigheter. Hon har också blivit mer medveten om att hon har rätt att få mer hjälp vilket har bidragit till att eleven lättare själv ber om hjälp. Föräldrarna vet att de har rättighet att få mer stöd till sitt barn och att det finns olika hjälpmedel för att underlätta skolarbetet för henne. Skolsituationen har anpassats till viss del, bland annat genom att elevens individuella planering läggs upp efter hennes förutsättningar. Skolan har köpt in vissa hjälpmedel som till exempel Daisyspelare och speciella stavningsprogram för dyslektiker. Studien visar även hur en dyslexiutredning kan gå till i teorin och i praktiken.

The intention with this study was to find out how a diagnosis can affect a pupils self-concept and her school situation. This case study shows that the diagnosis has given an explanation and a positive confirmation for the pupil. She now knows that there is a reason for her difficulties with reading and writing. She has also become more aware of the fact that she has the right to receive more help, which has contributed to the pupil now more easily asking for help herself. The parents know about their right to obtain more support for their child and that there are various aid to simplify the school work for her. The school situation has already been adjusted to some extent, among other things the pupil’s individual planning is based on her conditions. The school has bought some aid, for example “Daisyspelare” and special spell-checkers for “dyslexic individuals”. The study also shows how to perform an “investigation into dyslexia”, both theoretical and practical.
