Abstract [en]

The article is based on a literature review on respite care for families with children with disabilities. Parents need a break in order to rest and get energy to manage and cope with their daily lives. Four different themes concerning family suppport have appearded in research: Parents' needs for support, parents' feeling of stress, parents' satisfaction/dissatisfaction and the importance of education and training of respite staff. These topics are reoccurring in research.
