Hälsofrämjande ledarskap: En intervjustudie med chefer

Abstract [sv]

I denna studie har syftet varit att ta reda på hur chefer ser på hälsofrämjande arbete i sitt yrke. För att ta reda på chefernas upplevelser i sitt ledarskap grundas denna studie på kvalitativa intervjuer. Den teoretiska ramen utgår från begreppet hälsofrämjande ledarskap samt Lee G. Bolman och Terrence E. Deals olika perspektiv på organisation och ledarskap. Resultatet visade att cheferna ansåg att de arbetade med hälsofrämjande ledarskap genom att fungera som gott föredöme, ta medarbetarna på allvar och visa att de bryr sig. Cheferna upplevde att de försökte också uppmuntra medarbetarna till fysisk aktivitet och de pekade på att en medarbetare som inte mår bra psykiskt förmodligen inte mår bra fysiskt heller. Att som chef lyssna och bry sig såg cheferna som en viktig aspekt för att främja den psykosociala hälsan på arbetsplatsen. Cheferna ansåg vidare att det fanns många möjligheter till ett hälsofrämjande ledarskap, det egna intresset och engagemanget var det främsta medlet. De hinder som cheferna uppfattade kunde bland annat relateras till tidsbrist, ekonomi och omorganisationer. Friskfaktorer var ingenting som cheferna upplevde att de arbetade med utan organisationen tittade mest på sjuktal av olika slag som långtidssjukskrivningar, sjukfrånvaro m.m.

Abstract [en]

In this study the purpose has been to find out how managers see on health promotion work in their profession. To perceive the managers experience in their leadership this study is based on qualitative interviews. The theoretical frame assume from the conception health promotion leadership and Bolman & Deals different perspectives in organisation and leadership.

The results showed that the managers worked with health promotion leadership as like act as a good example, take the co-worker seriously and show that they care. The managers also tried to encourage the co-workers to physical activity and they point at a co-worker who is not feel so well psychical presumably not feel so well physical either. As a manager listen and really care saw the managers as an important aspect to promote the psychosocial health at the place of work. The managers considered further that there were many possibilities to a health promotion leadership, their own interest and engagement was the first instrument. The managers saw obstacles who could relate for instance to lack of time, economics and reorganizations. The healthy factors were nothing managers worked with but instead the organisation looked mostly on different sick numbers like longtermssickleave, sick leave etc
