Utbildning blir allt viktigare. För dem som saknar en gymnasial utbildning har det blivit svårareatt få ett jobb. Läsåret 2009/2010 var 88,2 procent behöriga till gymnasieskolans nationellaprogram. För den som är obehörig är Individuella programmet ett alternativ, där elever under ettår kan skaffa sig behörighet. Det har visat sig att elever som går ett år på det Individuellaprogrammet (IV) och sedan studerar på ett nationellt program i högre grad än andra, görstudieavbrott. Vi har träffat elever som går emot statistiken och faktiskt fortsätter sina studier.Syftet med denna uppsats var att undersöka vad som motiverat elever som studerat på detIndividuella programmet att ta sig vidare in på ett nationellt program på gymnasiet. Enkvalitativ undersökning gjordes, där sex elever på två orter intervjuades. Av våra respondentervar fem av sex obehöriga till gymnasiestudier. Samtligas mål var att komma in på en vissutbildning, vilket de också hade lyckats med. Hälften av respondenterna upplevde att de undersin tid på IV motiverats av skolfaktorer, så som lärare. En av eleverna upplevde att IV inte varen plats för henne. Samtliga har motiverats av andra faktorer, främst av sina egna uppsatta mål,att de klarade av studierna på IV samt påverkan av vänner och familj.

Abstract [en]

Education gets more and more important. For those who don’t have an education at uppersecondary school it has become harder to get a job. During the school year 2009/2010 88,2percent of the students were qualified to the national programs at the upper secondary school.For those who don’t are qualified, the Individual programme is an alternative, where the studentduring a year can study to get the qualification. By those who study a year at the Individualprogramme (IV) and then continue at a national programme, more students drop out fromschool. We have met students who as an opposite to the statistics actually continue their studiesall the way. The purpose with this paper was to view what it is that motivates students from anIndividual programme and then continue at a national programme. A qualitative research wasmade where we met six students in two cities for an interview. Five of the six students were notqualified to studies at a national programme. Everybody had a goal, to get qualified and startstudy at a certain national programme, which they also succeeded. Three of the studentsexperienced that they during their time at the Individual programme was motivated by theschool from the teachers. One experienced that the Individual programme wasn’t a place forher. All of the students were motivated by other factors, mostly by their own goals, that they didwell with their studies and influences by their friends and family.
