Kristendomens Plotinos: Till frågan om swedenborgianismens nyplatonska ursprung
1991 (Swedish)In: Lychnos, ISSN 0076-1648, 231-238 p.Article in journal (Refereed) Published
This paper aims to show Swedenborg’s direct and indirect acquaintance with works of Plotinus and Porphyry, and with Neo-Platonic thought in general. Swedenborg early acquired the Enneads of Plotinus, and when he read the pseudo-Aristotelian work De secretiore parte divinae sapientiae secundum egyptios, in fact a compilation made by Plotinus’ disciple Porphyry, he took down in his philosophical notebook that this work was too sublime to be written by Aristotle and by far surpassed the teachings of Plato.
