Abstract [en]

Dressing Sydney recovers a missing tale of fashion dreams and innovations. This book presents part of the story of the Sydney Jewish rag-traders, designers and entrepreneurs from the late-nineteenth century to now. We want to share this narrative for the first time, outline a crucial economic, social and cultural episode for the New South Wales and Australia, and encourage the hopes of the new generation who choose to work in fashion. This book accompanied an exhibition at the Sydney Jewish Museum and was part funded by UTS under the Partner Grant scheme.
