Abstract [en]

The aim of the adoption of the so called six pack legislative package after the financial and fiscal crisis is to rectify the shortcomings and enlarge the scope of application of the stability and growth pact. The new preventive and corrective arm of SGP should strengthen the legal armoury of the EU but since it is just adopted, it is rather premature to assess its effectiveness.
