Abstract [en]

Aki Kaurismäki is one of the most well known Finnish film directors. This article explores the reception of his film Le Havre (2011) in Sweden. Most notably, the perception of the image of Kaurismäki has changed as his international fame has increased. From being depicted – according to a national steraotype in Sweden – as a constantly drunken Finn he now is perceived as an Artist with strong social pathos.
