Abstract [en]

To find out if the central parts of Stockholm are suitable for beekeeping, 31 green areaswas investigated through field inventories. This was done to see whether there is foodsources to the honeybees (Apis millfera) throughout the growing season. Honeybeesneed to have access to flowering plants that produce both nectar and honey from earlyspring to late summer. The study was conducted through field surveys in the spring andin the summer. The results of the study show that there are flowering species throughoutthe season. But there is less number of species in the early spring and late summer. There were 18 green spaces with plantings, this should provide a good food resource forhoneybees because the plant species changed during the season.
