Abstract [en]

The overall purpose of this thesis is to provide information on what that contributes to marital satisfaction between heterosexual partners that had sought professional support in dealing with relationational queries. In aid to answer the purpose three questions were enunciated: (1) How pleased are the survey participant’s with their couple relations? (2) How has the men and woman evaluated the marital satisfaction and what background factors influence how the survey participant’s value the marital satisfaction? (3) How has the men and woman valued the gender equality within their relation, and does that have any correlation to the experience of marital satisfaction? The method used was quantitative method. The theoretical framwork Systems Theory and Gender Perspective is used in analyzing the data gathered with the ENRICH Marital Inventory. The results showed that the respondents perceived a relatively high grade of satisfaction with their relationships. And that the marital satisfaction rendered an even more positive rating with the evaluation method used by ENRICH. And finally the results showed that the respondents report a very high grade of equality within the partner relationship and that there is a significant role that equality plays in relation to perceived relationship happiness.
