Insight into the Uses and Gratifications of Instagram

This study uses a multi-method approach and applies the uses and gratifications theory to investigate the use of Instagram, a mobile application and social networking service used for online photo-sharing and video-sharing. The study examines the motives of Instagram users (gratifications sought) and the fulfilment of said motives (gratifications obtained). A comparison of gratifications sought and gratifications obtained was used to assess the satisfaction of Instagram users.
