Abstract [en]

This article is a report from a conference on Latin American Contract law. It highlights common features and differences in the contract law, such as its origins, its relation to soft law instruments, its rules on gross disparity, cause and certainty. The article furthermore addresses the general question of the functions of soft law instruments aiming at harmonising private law.
