    Abstract [en]

    Organizing and Reorganizing Markets brings organization theory to the study of markets. The difference between markets and organizations is often exaggerated. Organizing exists in addition to other processes and phenomena that form markets: the mutual adaption among sellers and buyers as described in mainstream economics, and the institutions described in institutional economics and economic sociology. Market organization can be analysed with the same type of theories used for analysing organization within formal organizations. Through the use of many empirical examples, the book demonstrates how this can be done.The authors argue that the way a certain market is organized can be understood as the (intermediate) result of previous organizing processes. Questions discussed include: 'What drives market organizing and reorganizing processes? What makes various organizations intervene as market organizers? And, how are the specific contents of market organization determined?' The answers to these questions help to analyse similarities and differences among organizing processes in formal organizations andthose in markets.Arguments are illustrated by in-depth studies of many types of markets. The book will open up markets as a field of study for scholars of organization.

    Abstract [en]

    CSR, företags sociala ansvarstagande, har blivit ett populärt koncept i företagsvärlden. Denna bok behandlar CSR som en managementidé, det vill säga som ett redskap för verksamhetsstyrning. Boken visar att CSR har mycket gemensamt med andra populära managementidéer – lean production, total quality management, just-in-time, business process reenginering och six sigma, för att nämna några. Men det finns också väsentliga skillnader.

    I boken redogörs för hur CSR uppkommer och sprids i företagets omvärld, men även för vad som händer när CSR når företagsledningar, implementeras och används i den dagliga verksamheten. Författarna visar att två grundläggande värden för allt företagande – legitimitet och effektivitet – är lämpliga för att analysera hur CSR påverkar företag, samt hur CSR liknar och skiljer sig från andra populära managementidéer.

    Tack vare tidigare forskning vet vi förhållandevis mycket om hur det är att vara medlem eller frivillig i ideella organisationer i Sverige. Men hur är det att vara anställd i det svenska civilsamhället? Med denna studie vill vi bidra till kunskapen om anställdas arbetsvillkor och drivkrafter i ideella organisationer i Sverige. Områden av intresse inkluderar till exempel vad som kännetecknar organisationer med anställda i det svenska civilsamhället, vilka de anställda är och vad de har för befattningar och villkor samt hur de anställda ser på för- och nackdelar med att arbeta i ideell sektor i jämförelse med privat och offentlig sektor.
