Om curatoriell metod och praktik utanför den vita kuben: En komparativ studie mellan Statens konstråd och MAP Mobile Art Production2013Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [sv]

LIGHT MY FIRE – MAKING SENSE: On materiality, meaning, light and development of curatorial method2013Independent thesis Advanced level (degree of Master (Two Years)), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis
    Abstract [en]

Based on post humanistic theory this thesis brings forward issues relating to light as aparameter being materially meaningful and lights possible impact on the art experience. Through a brief investigation of the topics art experience, human contribution to the artexperience, spatial context – light as parameter, the light as such is put in relation to theActor Network Theory and advocated as an important non-human actor in the network of which an experience takes place. Three reviews of James Turrell’s exhibition The LightInside, in Ytterjärna outside Stockholm 2011 are analyzed to look for corresponding orcontradictive points relating to the facilitation of the art experience, materiality of light andimpact of a sensory experience. Together this opens up for new ways of reading light as a helpful tool for curators to use when facilitating the art experience.
