On November, 12-13, 2025, the Stockholm University unit for digital human science1 organized the second Huminfra2 conference with the aim to showcase the variety of infrastructural tools, resources and initiatives aimed at supporting digital and experimental research in the Humanities as well the Social Sciences and Law (together constituting digital human science (DHS)). Topics of interest included amongst others descriptions and showcasing of digital archives & repositories and experimental tasks, description of DHS centres, networks, and related projects, DHS expertise and expertise in experimental human science, practical aspects of use of DHS tools/services/resources, user training and education (e.g., "how-to" tutorials), dissemination of digital and experimental infrastructures, data, software, and/or research output in and beyond knowledge institutions, and emerging trends and future directions in DHS infrastructure development (e.g., AI).

Der Beitrag beschäftigt sich mit dem Erzählen über das Leben und Sterben bzw. dem Erzählen über die Pflege und Sterbebegleitung des lebenszeitverkürzt erkrankten Kindes Josef in einem besonders dafür angelegten Blog und insbesondere damit, wie Zeit und Raum als Erzählressourcen funktionieren. Zeit und Raum sind grundlegende menschliche Sinnstrukturen, die stark miteinander verknüpft sind und besonders beim Erzählen über Sterben und Sterbebegleitung zum Tragen kommen. Wir gehen anhand des Blogs über Josef der Frage nach, inwiefern Chronotopoi, erzählerische Verbindungen von Zeit und Raum, dazu beitragen, Erfahrungen von Eltern, die schwer erkrankte Kinder pflegen oder Kinder verloren haben, zu encodieren und begreif‌bar zu machen. Die Studie zeigt, wie Chronotopoi des Sterbens und der Sterbebegleitung neu geschaffen werden und wie über die chronotopische Strukturierung sozialer Institutionen wie das Zuhause oder das Krankenhaus neu verhandelt wird.

The article deals with the narrative about the life and death of the terminally ill child Josef, in particular the narrative about care and end-of-life care, in a blog specially created for this purpose. We focus on how time and space function as narrative resources, as time and space are fundamental human structures of meaning that are strongly interconnected and come into play in narratives about dying and palliative care. We use the blog about Josef to explore the extent to which chronotopes, as connections between time and space, appear in order to encode parents’ experiences and make them comprehensible. The study shows how chronotopes of dying and end-of-life care are created and how chronotopic structures of social institutions such as home or hospital are renegotiated.
