Abstract [sv]
Syftet med projektet är att 1) analysera befolkningsfördelning i relation till rumslig tillgänglighet till miljökvalitéer (eng. affordances), som definieras som egenskaper hos den fysiska miljön som i en given situation utgör en icke-deterministisk förutsättning för ett beteende. Samt 2) att utvärdera vad för effekt som tillgänglighet eller brist på tillgänglighet till dessa miljökvalitéer har på invånares upplevelser av den byggda miljön. Vi undersöker Stockholm och Knivsta.Ett av projektets mål är att, i ett doktorandprojekt, utveckla en metodik för att analysera rumslig tillgänglighet till både ekosystemtjänster och urbana tjänster, samt att utvärdera hur denna tillgänglighet påverkar invånares vardagliga upplevelser. Ett andra mål är att utveckla en tillgänglig databas genom att samla primärdata från 1) en studie som använder sig av PPGIS; 2) befolkningens rumsliga fördelning; samt 4) rumsligt högupplöst data över ekosystemtjänsten temperaturreglering. I senare skeden har vi för avsikt att inkludera data över buller, luftföroreningar samt andra ekosystemtjänster. Projektet bygger på en pågående internetbaserad PPGIS studie som är utformad för att samla rumsligt bestämda positiva och negativa upplevelser hos stockholmarna. Frågor handlar också om de miljökvaliteter som genererar sådana känslor och upplevelser.
Abstract [en]
The aims of this project is to 1) analyze urban population distribution in relation to spatial accessibility to affordances, used as both an environmental feature of a situation and a non-deterministic precondition for an activity, and 2) to assess the effects of presence or absence of accessibilities to such affordances on inhabitants’ experiences of Stockholm and Knivsta, Sweden. The affordances of focus herein are within the realms of ecosystem services and simultaneously of urban services, e.g. workplaces, amenities and public transports.Objectives of this project include developing, in a PhD-project, a methodology to evaluate and model spatial accessibility to both ecosystem services and simultaneously to urban services, and to evaluate how such access impact on inhabitants’ everyday experiences. A second objective is to develop a publically available database by constructing primary levels of data from 1) a PPGIS study; 2) spatial distribution of the population; and 4) data about the ecosystem service of temperature regulation. At later stages in the project we aim to include data on noise-and air pollution as well as a greater number of ecosystem services. The project draws on PPGIS study called ‘varardittstockholm.se’. This PPGIS is designed to capture positive and negative experiences of the citizens of Stockholm. Questions also revolve around affordances that generate such emotions and experiences. This PPGIS will be used also in Knivsta.
