Der Beitrag wendet sich der sprachlichen Gestaltung von Trauer, Trost und Macht imHochadel des 17. Jahrhunderts zu und macht das Konzept der Positionierung für diehistorische Soziolinguistik bzw. historische Pragmatik nutzbar, um historische Lebensweltenzu rekonstruieren. Analysiert werden Positionierungen in zwei Leichenpredigten für dieKinder des Grafenpaares Maria Euphrosyne von Pfalz-Zweibrücken und Magnus Gabriel Dela Gardie. Die Analyse von deutschsprachigen Leichenpredigten für drei der achtverstorbenen Kinder zeigt, dass zwar die tiefe Trauer der Eltern und Trost durch GottesGnade relevant gemacht werden, vor allem aber auch die ständische Position desGrafenpaares sowie die religiöse Sinnstiftung durch den Prediger manifestiert werden.Deutlich wird auch, dass die Gattung der Leichenpredigt dabei den Rahmen für diesePositionierungen bietet.

The Article addresses the linguistic Design of Mourning, Consolation and Power in the High Nobility of the 17th Century and makes the Concept of Positioning usable for historical Sociolinguistics and historical Pragmatics in order to reconstruct historical Lifeworlds. Positionings in two Funeral Sermons for the Children of the Count and Countess Maria Euphrosyne von Palatine Zweibruecken and Magnus Gabriel De la Gardie are analyzed. The Analysis of German-language Funeral Sermons for three of the eight deceased Children shows that although the deep grief of the Parents and Consolation through God's Grace are made relevant, the Status of the Count and Countess and the religious Endowment provided by the Preacher are also manifested above all. It also becomes clear that the Genre of the Funeral Sermon offers the Framework for these Positionings.
