Abstract [fr]

Abstract [en]

This study explores how Natasha Kanapé Fontaine mobilizes the concept of nutshimit to articulate a decolonial ontology and an Innu self-history. The nutshimit, a vital space rooted in the land, embodies a spiritual conception of territory that challenges colonial logics. Through her poetry and essays, Kanapé Fontaine reactivates a spiritual connection to the land, offering a feminist and ecological critique. She situates her work in continuity with An Antane Kapesh, Joséphine Bacon, and Rita Mestokosho, expanding the hybrid poetics between French and Innu-aimun. Her writing asserts resistance to the erasure of Indigenous knowledge and puts forward a relational vision of existence.
