The Nordic countries are renowned for their achievements of gender equality, often being referred to as models of gender equality based on their results in various international rankings. On the basis of the concept of gender knowledge, this chapter addresses the ways in which gender equality is manifested in the Nordic cooperation on gender equality, with a specific focus on the Nordic Council of Ministers for Gender Equality. By an analysis of the Nordic Collaboration Agreements on Gender Equality 1984–2024, it sheds light on what (normative) assumptions underpin knowledge claims as they pertain to gender equality.
